The Author

Peter Wright started writing seriously in the mid-1990s for Racecar Engineering, with numerous articles on motorsport technology:  “I always tried to describe complex concepts in a way that would be accessible to most people.” Many of these articles were syndicated in magazines around the world. In 2001, the SAE published his first book, Formula 1 Technology, followed up by David Bull Publishing’s Ferrari  Formula 1: Under the Skin of the Championship-winning F1-2000, in 2004.

Now, in 2024, How did I get here?Memories of six decades in motorsport, and musings on the future of Formula 1 and the planet, becomes his third book, based on his six decades working in motorsport, and the life this has influenced and supported.

Today he is “almost retired” and lives off-grid with his New Zealand-born wife on the England-Wales border.
